This National Trail punches well above its weight with its variety of walking, scenery and history. Agreements should be in place for an official summer 2012 launch, bringing the total distance of bridleway open to 200 miles. 5 miles 28 Km This section is a great introduction to the North Yorkshire coastline. At the end of the tour you can leave from either Filey station or from Scarborough, which has good connections via York.
5km This section is said to be the most strenuous of the tour, a rollercoaster of a walk up and down the Cleveland Hills, including the best walking within the park.

Step back in time visiting Whitby Abbey, Rievaulx Abbey and Scarborough Castle• The Pennine Way takes you into isolated country.
