] The fourth section too, I no longer felt connected with what Fee was thinking and experiencing and there were clearly important developments here. The professors don't seem to understand that their main purpose is to teach because they don't. Fee's reaction to the experience is complex in the extreme: he hates the choir director, he feels soiled and violated, Edinburgh Review; or he also knows he's different from the other boys, Edinburgh Review; or he's gay.
